A gearbox of my A6 2.7 BiTurbo, 2000 make, needs to be replaced and I am being offered a gearbox from A6 2.8 standard, also manufactured in 2000 in US.

Could you please advise if the two are compatible or how to say they are the same?

Auto or manual?

 

Automatic assume? since the US spec 2.8 never came with a manual. Anyways, if they are autos, they should be exactly the same.
