Default Good Audi mechanic in Mpls?

>>First post!!<<

I bought a Pearl White 1999 2.8 A6 Avant this weekend. The car is really clean with some service records provided. It has 74k and probably due for a timing belt and other 75-80k service needs soon. Can anyone recommend a good Audi mechanic? What are your experiences with Carousel Audi?

The color was a compromise for me, but the wife loves it. I'm reluctantly glad about getting the 2.8 engine (very smooth BTW), as I would want to "mod" the 2.7t and the 4.2 would get me heavy footed again.

Thanks,
Dan

Dealer is expensive. Unless you have tons of money, you should find independent shop, or even better learn to do things yourself.

Anyone use a good independent shop in the Twin Cities? How about German MotorWorks in St. Louis Park?

I have had good luck with German Auto Works. They are a little spendy, but on the big stuff that we are not willing to do ourselves, they are great. Also they know what they are talking about, deal almost exclusivly in european cars and are down to earth (unlike Carousel). Carousel is nice but pricey, I feel like I need to pick up a bottle of lube before going in there.

Mine was done at 84k by the dealer. It was done already when I bought the car at 114k. I believe the previous owner paid Carousel $1400.00. Are you considering doing the TB yourself?

I was using Carousel, but they are expensive, inconveniently located (for me) and always finding more problems. I've been using Dred Scott Shell in Bloomington (on Old Shakopee Road) and they've been great.
