Default Got myself a 2.7t!

I had my eye on this car for a while and when the price was lowered to $14,700 I just couldn't resist. Its a 04 non s-line with premium, cold weather, luxury, and premium audio packages along with onstar telematics and rear side airbags. It has around 56,500 miles and is blue/beige. Did I get a good deal?

I plan on using this as my DD and slowly "upgrading" it with piggiebacks, chips, and diverters. Maybe a silicone TB intake too.

I have a few questions....
1.My spare wheel is a 17" while the rims on the car are just 16", maybe the PO has a set of 17"s they forgot to include?
2.The beige and black paint coating on a few of the plastic parts is starting to chip off, is there anything that can be done about this?
3.I filled up with 87 today, I'm from the turbo porsche world and this would be a big no-no, am I going to be ok and is 87 safe?

Anyway, I thought I'd post something as you guys are going to be seeing more of me.

Oh yeah, Any bay area people on here??

Welcome! Nice looking A6.

Check the owners manual for petrol octane requirements, I believe it says 91+ but I could be mistaken. Wether or not this is bad for the car, im no expert.

Welcome! Nice looking car. Treat it good and it will return the favor. From my understanding turbo cars should run nothing lower than 91 octane. Rule of thumb, if your not surerun premium, I mean it does havethe premimum package...lol.

14.7K for an 04 w/ 56.5 miles...pretty good deal to me. I paid $14k for an 01 w/ 50k last October.
I have me jealous. Well, sort of

I put 89 in for about a year and I didn't notice any problems. Except for the common ones... I would say throw 91 in or 93 is most common around here, but its really not worth saving about $8 a tank if somthing major breaks. Just my opinion. Also sweet car. I am not a fan of thoes wheels, but if you have the mesh bbs wheel as a spare, I would gess that the PO sold the other 4 off for cash. They are very pricy and thoes 16's were cheap so I'm guessing he made a few buck. Thats also just a guess..

Nice car, looks pretty clean. I just got myself an 02' 2.7T last week. It's pretty fun. Still gettin used the car feel though. I'm used to a truck. I've always been told to put in 91+ in supercharged or turboed engines.

Congrats,
yeah rims don't look right, probably should have the BBS RCs which sell for 560 eachat the stealership. I have 4 for sale

The beige trim has a tendency to go around the door handle area.. sucks! try shokan.com for used parts

USe 91 octane, and when you get chipped, if you get a 93 octane program use nothing lower.

WOW!!! I'm not even sure where to find 93 in my area. I've seen 101 at roughly $7.50 a gallon that was like 2 weeks ago

I have run 87 in my '02 all winter with no issues. The computer is smart enough to back off the timing to prevent damage. Almost all of my driving is on the interstate with very little foot to the floor time, so the loss in power (whihc is noticable) is not an issue. I run 93 through it every now and then to keep the injectors clean.

However, with summer time here with the increase in temperatures, I will be switching back to 93 until fall.

I don't accelerate hard but drive fast, and have used midrange (89) for the past 80k miles with no problems. Car is at 118k now. Plugs were changed with 60k on them only because I was 20k past the maintenance interval, not because they needed it. But I do lots of highway driving.

It looks great. Enjoy it!
