GPS navi question in my 2000 a6
i just bought a 2000 a6 with gps navigation, but i've got absolutely no clue how to work the gps. unfortunatley i don't have the instruction manual for it, so does anyone know where to get one from? also, is it possible to enter a specific street address, or do you only get to select major stuff like airports and such for the gps to guide you to? just curious because i'm having a heck of a time figuring it out.
thanks in advance,
mike

Oh, you got the nasty US only one. Yes, you can type in the specific address, & search for POI's (points of interest)
The bad part is your maps are old, believe the last year was 2004.
The dealer should be able to get you a manual. I just got one for my RNS-E (DVD based, direct fit on the 00 A6) from Audi for $6
IMHO, save up & purchase a RNS-E, or even pick up a RNS-D, the D is still CD based, but it has the map screen.
So...
Manual $6 @ dealer
latest CD based maps $129 for all of the US, 12 cd's I believe.
RNS-D $500 on ebay, direct fit, plug & play
RNS-E $1000-1500 on eBay, direct fit, and a little recoding to fit, DVD based, one disk for all of NA, & it has a bigger screen, new 2007 DVD, & 2 Compact flash card slots for Mp3's

2k S4, you are my hero. that's exactly what i needed to hear. i just bought the car and have a little money left over, so i'll probably just grab one of the RNS-Ds off of ebay if they're only going for $500. one more question though, will i still be able to use my stock cd changer with the RNS-D?
thanks,
mike

HELP!! In Spain with 2000 Audi A6 Avant and German manuals
Hi
I really need some help. I have just bought an old, 2000 audi in very good condition but it was originally from Germany which means the manuals are in german which I dont understand.
I cant work out how to use the navigation system and have bought a new CD for it but the slot above the system wont accept the CD I just cant get it in, and I cant get anything out of it, if in fact there is anything in there anyway.
Can anyone help me please? I went to an audi garage but they want 50 euros before they will even speak to you let alone offer you help!
Thanks
Sarah
