Meant to say, I scr***d up my headlight lens and would like to replace both front lenses. Is that possible...how...and where can i get them? I searched pretty extensively and found headlight units, but no lenses...

No company makes replacement lenses, just replacement lamp assembies.
You have to remove the bumper to get the headlamp assemblies out.

One of headlight lenses on my 01' allroad are becoming cloudy - little pits that look like something corrasive got on them.

I went to the dealer, and he took me in the back and showed me the headlights on some A6 they had and the lenses looked HORRIBLE...

Bunch if crap, that the lights in a 50k car look like that after just 5 or 6 years!

All my research shows just the lense is not replaceable... the fix is replace the entire headlight assembly, which of course if you have HID's is an expensive venture just to get clear lenses.

I'm going to try that Meguiars Headlight repair kit stuff. I'll post an update.

I've used the Meguiar two-step cleaner/polish, as well as their Plastex polish; neither made a significant difference, and the lights were back to the same cloudiness after a week or so. I finally bit the bullet and bought new Hella replacement units after my driver side HID unit became intermittent, cutting out frequently or not coming on at all - most likely due to a failing ballast or igniter. Audi wants $815.00 each for the Hella replacements; I was able to buy the same lights from Shokan Coachworks(shokan.com) for $403.99 each, shipped ($379 + $24.99 s/h), for a total of $807.98 for both. Shokan sells themin their eBay store, or you can order them directly. I received themthis week, and I'm trying to decide if I can get to all of the fasteners without having to pull the bumper (as indicated in myBentley CD manual).......

Don't mean to highjack the thread, but does anyone know of a work-around?

If your headlight isn't damaged then why not just clean them? I cleaned my with sandpaper and polish and it's going good. This is a maximum of $40 dollar fix compared to the 1000 for new headlights and labor.
