Default headunit opinions?

ok... so went to the local audio shop today and found the wiring harness and dash kit for my car (1999 a6 w/ Bose)... so I did some searching online, and I would really like a red backlit headunit to match the rest of the lights and guages and such (im weird like that I guess). but that aside, I ran across this

What do you guys think?... anyone see any reason not to get this.. problems it may cause?
Im kind of hesitant because of the lack of cd player.. but I guess thats why I have an iPod lol

pioneer avic-d3 if you got the cash ... you can ground the gyro which is key and also the lights change any color you want ... remember you need something to fill the space that your old radio was in because itll look wierd n cheap if u dont have the space filled and its all dask kit

here is a pic of mine ... i fiber glassed my own dash kit around it
