HELP: A6 Crankshaft Bolts Snapped!
Hi. Need help from fellow Audi gurus. My A6 was recently incapacitated as I lost power steering. It turns out that the crankshaft pulley had come off and there were two bolts that snapped off in crankshaft. That explains the broken belt for the power steering.
Here's the basics:
1. Gone to the same dealer since the car was leased
2. Purchased CPO for the car
3. Currently at 60k miles
Need your help in the following:
1. Is this a normal occurrence?
2. What could be the cause of this? (e.g. I'm at 60k, could it happen in 55k service)
3. Would this be something that someone should have checked on during any service.
4. What would you expect Audi to cover for the damages? Should it be 100%, 90%, 80%, ??
Thanks in advance!

NO not normal
2. What could be the cause of this? (e.g. I'm at 60k, could it happen in 55k service)
Loose bolts, bolts that were too tight, sharp blow on pulley, or accident.
Not a mileage issue...
3. Would this be something that someone should have checked on during any service.
Not something that a mechanic would look at during service. But he might find it while checking belts for wear.
4. What would you expect Audi to cover for the damages? Should it be 100%, 90%, 80%, ??
I would not expect Audi to cover anything but it depends upon your warantee.
