I'm going to guess they can be easily modified to fit, but they might have different manifolds or intake tracts or something. That is my best guess and worst case scenario.

Have you considered just finding a 2.8 head? Unless you jacked all of the pistons just replacing the head should suffice

well its not really that feasiable to jus put a head on it i cant even get a head for less then a motor i can get a motor for 750 with 120xxx on it and a 90 day warrenty, if im going to spend that i want to know it will work with no issues, it is out of an a4 and all cylinders have 150psi which seems a little low but im not sure if the a4 should have a lower compression then the a6 i apperiate all the responses.

the fact that you get a motor for that astonishes me. Although you should be able to get a used head of a junker and have it cleaned and checked out for less that half of that.

if the block overheated it could have warped and seized once it cooled. If thats the case your only hope is a new engine. Test the starter by taking it off, if it works off the car and not hooked up it probably means that it can't move the pistons because they are seized.

Well I don't think its seazed, it started and ran for a few seconds then shut off after that it would not crank again, I was talking to a guy a while back and he said that he had the same problem with his and that it was a wire in the stearing collium or some thing like that could anyone confirm this?

There a a zillion things that could be wrong from bad wiring, failed components, to a siezed motor.

Your questions suggest that you don't know a lot about cars - If that is the case it would be better for you to start looking for a new vehicle instead of doing a motor or head swap.
