How can I turn off the (MIL) malfunction indicator light? Have no issues with car.

 

If the MIL is on you have an issue, it is just not affecting drivability. The problem could be a bad gas cap, bad O2 sensor etc. The MIL light indicates that you have a problem which is affecting emissions or fuel efficiency. A blinking MIL means stop the car immediately and call for a tow or you will damage your engine/transmissions.

You can get the fault code read and reset at Advance Auto and Pep Boys. They will also tell you what the fault means. More sophisticated diagnostics can be done with a VAG-COM system, perhaps someone near you has one and could run a scan for you.
