Default Help me Audiphiles!!!

Hi everyone. I'm new here and need some tech advice, and this place seems to be the be all/end all of audi. I drive a 2002 A6 2.7T. I have 2 issues I need help with:

1. My memory seats stopped working, and I just tipped the 50k. Is there a reset or something I can try before I pay to have it looked at?
2. I need new tires that I can use year-round. I don't need anything fancy, and I'd like them to last for a while. I live in the northeast, so they'll have to be able to go in the snow. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can you give me the best tires in say a mid/low price range?

Thanks for all of you help!!!

Not sure about the first item. Have you searched? Have you checked the fues?

On the second item... I'm a fan of two sets of wheels -- one for winter one for summer. "All season" tires are a compromise. That said, I know several people who have used and love the Kumho ECSTA ASX. Available at www.tirerack.com for around $70 per.

Thanks Southboro!!! I checked the fuses and theyre' all ok.

I know that the allseasons are a compromise, but we just had a new baby and the bills are piling up!!! Any other tire suggestions?

In case I was not clear, the Kumho ECSTA ASX is an all-season tire. Check www.tirerack.com -- great site with very good pricing.

When you check out tirerack.com, they have ratings on all of their tires. You can compare their individual qualities such as wet traction, hydroplaning resistance, tire wear, dry traction, noise, etc. Then you can compare pricing and availability. In addition they have testimonials from individuals like you and me and what they like or dislaik about each tire. www.tirerack.com

I have the Kumho ASX. I love em, super quiet, great grip wet and dry. I live in the midwest and havent had a chance to test them in the snow but tireracks reviews are positive.

Default 2nd on the Kumhos

Second vote for the Kumho ASX. These tires are an 'Ultra High Performance' all season radial. I have a set on my Mercedes and I really like them. Best bang for the buck out there. At $70 - $80 per, plus shipping, mounting and balancing, they can't be beat. I am on my second set of Kumho tires on my MB, and when my Pirelli tires wear out on my A6 I'm going to replace them with Kumho too.

That being said, I really can't attest to their snow performance, as I have dedicated snow tires.

for the seats...I would check under the front seat and see if any of the connectors have been pulled out. I believe that there is a light tan connector that is responsible for the memory function. YOu might need to tilt up the front seat (very easy; requires removing to front bolts). See my link below for my OEM seat upgrades. There are embedded links to a great article with pix from Boston Driver.

FYI - you will find more answers on these topics on the C5 A6 forum in audiworld.com

Good luck!
