Default HELP please! grinding noise

My 2001 Audi a6 4.2 is acting up again. For the last few months my car would make a slight grinding noise when I'd turn the wheel. I assumed it was western pa cold weather. Now it does it as soon as I start the car and doesn't stop. I made a video but I do not know how to post it. Please let me know what could be wrong and how I could fix it. Or how much for someone else to fix it. If the video would help please let me know how to post it.
Thanks everyone

Rack and pinion, I bet.

Get a new one or have your existing unit rebuilt.

Typical wear and tear- it's not unusual.

Thanks everyone for the replies. My mechanic thought I could be dirty fluid. Flushed power steering no.more noises but he did say the pump seems to be going
He originally claimed it probably was the pump but flushing the system was worth a shot. $100 is better than $400 any day of my week. Lmao! Hopefully the clean fluid has less strain on my pump until I can get it replaced along with my book long list of other needed services/repairs.
