I'm no pro with these cars, but I would be concerned about the 102,000 mi and the turbos. Have they been rebuilt/replaced? Care records? Just my $0.02

I think you need to know if the timing belt has been replaced, more than likely it has. But if the 2.7l is the same as the 2.8l then Audi recommends 105k as its change interval. If it has not been replaced, I would not buy the car, especially with an unknown maintinence history.

I purchased my 00 A6 2.8l avant 4 months ago for 8995.00 with 114k. The price was ok, but the maintinence history was solid. That and it was a suburban mommy mobile since new.

I was concerned about the high-mileage turbos as well. I'm going to test drive the car tomorrow. I'll find out what's been done and if there are maintenance records.jeffla - How's your 2.8? I've considered a 2.8 or 3.0. I REALLY want a stick, but I wanted the power, as well. I would imagine, although they aren't powerhouses, that the NA V6s put out decent power for the vehicle. How's yours do?I was considering a 4.2, but I really want a manual transmission.

Keep in mind I come from Volvo world, so this 2.8l v6 is powerull for me.
My 93 850 NA was a 5 cylinder slug with 317k miles on it. So when I bought my
00 A6 2.8l with 114k miles it felt like a brand new car. My Volvo was starting to have some
serious problems. Although I am an outsider on this one, I feel my A6 is over powered, I wish
I could have purchased mine with a 4 cylinder diesel turbo. I get around 22mpg on average and I
believe that is terrible. I love my car, but when I sell it eventually, I will be purchasing a car that gets
better gas milage. I did compare many AWD wagons and sedans (of the same size) to the A6 and the A6 is average for mpg.

Wow. 2.8 overpowering an A6? Must be one peppy-assed engine. You've sparked my interest. As I said, I really don't wanna go turbo if I don't have to.I'll check out the 2.8 and 3.0thanks!

I would't risk to buy a turbo car with 100,xxx miles on it unless you have a proof that turbos were replaced and compression results are good.

Over 100,000 miles on the turbos, forget it.

Ok then. I know I said I wanted a stick. But what about this one:http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...eadExists=trueShe said the timing belt was replaced early, around 90K. It's gorgeous from the pics. According to the ad, it's been dealer maintained, she has all her receipts and service sheets. Apparently, it's even been for bi-yearly detailing.
