at about 45-60 if i give it about half throttle it seems like the car is jumpy or something. im not sure how to explain it. it keeps accelerating but very rough. any other time its fine. anyone have a clue?

 

The Dodge Aspen is known to have that problem -- very common.

 

my car is a 2001 A6 2.7t do u know what causes it? can it be fixed?

 

For accurate help, you need to accurately describe the symptoms. Is it surging? Is it hesitating? Is it sputtering/loss of power? Is the tranny engaging all the way. What is your current MPG? When was the last time you had a tune-up or air filter change? WHat RPM range and gear are you in when this happens? Does it happen all the time or just at those speeds? What happens at WOT?

Dodge Aspen...Wow...what a POS those things were. I had a K-Car back in the day for like 2 weeks. I was pimpin FBI style. The car sucked and I unloaded it quickly....LOL..It had like barely 100HP.

 

Well that helps quite a bit! Knowing what kind of car you have is a start. Now you need follow prbayha's advice and provide more info.

 

I had to LOL when I read about the Aspen. What a random comparison!

 

It was my subtle way of saying that we can't do very much diagnosis without knowing what kind of car we're talking about. As a general "A6" forum, there are at least a dozen different engine/suspension setups we could be talking about.

Maybe a little too subtle...

 

the tranny and all feel fine. the engine doesn't sound funny or anthing, and it happens around 3k till about 4.5k or 5k rpms. it almost feels like the turbos are losing boost, but this is my first turbo car and im not sure

 

Two things to check (does sound like a lost of boost)...

1) Throttle Body boot. Common point of failure.
2) F hose. You may or may not have this on an 01 depending on your date of manufacture. If you have it, it is also a common point of failure.

Search for these parts here or on audiworld to see pics of where they can be found and discussion of how they fail/how to replace.
