Default Horn location

One of the horns on my 2001 A6 2.7t is not working. Does anyone have instructions for getting at the horns? I think they must be behind the front bumper, but I have no idea how to get to them.

Thanks,
Tim - Minneapolis

There should be one on each side of the bumper. One for high tone and one for low. Depending on the engine you may be able to replace them by just removing the belly pan. Otherwise you will have to remove the bumper.

Just noticed you had a 2.7t. Im pretty sure the bumper will have to come off to access the horns on that car. You will have to remove both grills and the bolts that go upward thru the bumper behind those grills. You will also have to remove some bolts in the fenderwells on the side. Then the bumper should pull off. It may take a little persuasion.
