I have a 01 a6 2.7t and i was wondering if anybody knew of a good tutorial on how to change the dif oil for the front and back...or if anybody could tell me how to do it? Also what is a good dif oil to use along with capacities? Thanks

Im at 120k miles and i was going to change it with my tranny fluid since my tranny is kinda slipping

Well, you're not technically supposed to do either - you at least realize that right? The tranny fluid is supposedly rated as lifetime. From what i've read on the forums, you're only getting yourself into trouble when you play with the tranny - i'm just obligated to give you the disclaimers of course.

Seems somewhere around 75w90 is good for the differential. Capacity should be 2 liters i believe. The front differential - again, i believe - is part of the tranny itself, so not a big deal there.

75W-90 synthetic will do for both front and back. Front is somewhat PITA. See here....

The tranny fluid is rated as lifetime is it?? Wow that is something that I never knew about landlords insurance, guess you do learn something new every day.

Did you try to change it over, just wondered wether or not you were succesful in doing it??
