how many miles do you guys have?
96 A6 - 130K any good 10-40 change every 4-5K
Also have a 89 200 QT with 310K and do the same as above.
I asked my Audi Specialist about synthetic and he said that the Audi is not certainly not an Asian pocket rocket that needs a lot of extra protection so I should save my money and just use a standard oil. He did say to always use a good (Mann or equivolent ) filter that is black. If not black stay away from it because it will cause a problem - AKA engine rebuild - because of the pressures involved and the antidrain back valve.
I used Mobil 1 in a Hyundai and got 350K so it works there - but not needed in an Audi.
PS almost forgot - also have a 88 Audi 90 with 260K and my daughter drives a 99 Passat wagon (really and A4 with turbo) with 190K that sees the same good 10-40 every 4-5K.

I am supposed to change in about a hundred miles for the 178,500.
I go with every 3-5K depending on the driving (mostly highway or around town)
I go with the cheap stuff, Fram oil filter and some valvoline or quakerstate 10 w 30.
I also don't use premium fuel.
It goes with my cars are like women theory, treat them like crap and they beg for more, pamper um, and they find a new daddy.

Intersting thread to bring back to life...
Might as well give some stats. As of July 2007...
106k miles. Mobile 1 supersyn. This part of the world they say every 10k before the oil and filter change.
