IceLink
Hey southboroaudiguy.....I know you have done the icelink/IPOD install on your rig..I was thinking about doing the same and following the install instructions, but I have a question. What is the sound quality like? Are you still running stock BOSE? What is the clarity and imaging like? I have one of those MONSTER adapters which works well but sounds like it is coming out of muffled can -- horrible. Thanks in advance.

RE: IceLink
I have the icelink installed with the symphony stereo and can say that the sound quality is the same as a cd. It will sound as good as an ipod can sound (given Apple's inferior compression technology). Have no desire to debate Apple or their compression technology.

RE: IceLink
As Jeffla said, the sound quality is excellent. By taking a "line out" feed (instead of a headphone jack or FM transmitter link), you're getting the best audio out that the iPod can deliver. So, it sounds great.
That said, I'd have to disagree with Jeffla on the comment that Apple's compression technology is poor. In iTunes, you can choose a variety of compression algorithms that vary quality based on how you want to trade off file size and quality. On the highend you have Apple's unique lossless algorithm (1/2 the file size of uncompressed with no loss of quality). On the other end, you have ACC which is quite well respected and does a great job of shinking things down. But... you didn't ask this question so I'll quit there.
