INMotion Chip. Anyone try it?
http://www.inmotionusa.com/audigraphs.html
I did a search and I couldn't find anyone who has used this chip. A bunch of the A4 guys have talked about it but I didn't find anyone that had used it. I was wondering if anyone with an A6 2.7T has tried it.
I really don't want this to be a flame thread about "you get what you pay for" or "it's cheap crap" when you or no one you know has had a real life experience with this chip. Intelligient opinions however are always welcomed.

I am sure that I will get flamed for this too because I am going to defend them. I had a chip from Inmotion for my old A4 and it was great. I am sure that there was not much difference at all from GIAC and APR. My friend has a 2001.5 S4 and he has the Inmotion tuning and it is running great. Very quick, esp. with an MBC. They have great customer service and will work with you if you have any problems. So it is your call.
The 2.7t is much more advanced then most other Audi engines. Chip tuning is an Art & science. IMHO, having an off brand company do the chip is a gamble & one not worth taking. People are always selling used flashed ECU's, that might be a better bet.
If you do get it, I would suggest, you get the car dyoned, to make sure you are running safe fueling, & safe boost levels.

Yes, although Inmotion has been in Europe for like over 10 years or something like that. So they do have quite a bit of experince. I read lots of threads about them before I decided to go with it for my A4. And also if you buy their tuning through ebay you can get it for like 150. Just an FYI.

My $.02, tuning a car in the EU & over here in the US is very different. We have slightly different engines, & we have lower quality gas. So hopefully they changed the code for US cars, & hopefully you are really getting an Inmotion chip, & not a ripped off one. I'm not saying it will not work, just I would want to test it, hell I tested my GIAC flash, the day after I got it, only to find out, it was a bad flash, so even they can mess up.
INMotion does have a shop here in the states located in California. Therefore I would think that the tuning they do is for the cars here.
Maybe it's just me, but if you're selling a product in a competitive field, it's possible that you may want to have lower prices to get that migration and develop a following. They may also be working with new technology that allows them to not have to do as much R&D because it's already been done by other companies. They've been around for 10 years and that should be long enough to know what you're doing. Maybe to them, they don't see why you should have to pay$600 for a chip because you can't do it yourself. Would spending $600 on it make them more reputable? When it comes to sales, would you want to sell 5 chips at $600 or 20 chips at $150? Especially if your chip is just as good or not better. Word of mouth is a big business. Just think of all the people that have bought GIAC or APR chips just from what they've read on this forum alone.
I've always rooted for the underdog. I think what i'll do is buy another good ecu, get it chipped, and put it in. If it works, cool. If I don't get the performance I expected, I can put my original back in and get a refund on the chip.

Hmm... GIAC gave you a bad flash... How did you test it?? I sometimes question my APR, but I am probably jsut paranoid...

Then it unleashed the hounds, & the car flew!
BTW, that shop is now out of Business.

I did a google, didn't come up with much.

Notice the page is low quality, & looks kind of cheap. Then look at the section where they tell you the HP gains, opps, it's not in HP, but in PS & NM, the 2.7t is @ 265, we didn't get that much stock. My point is, they are not dedicated to VAG car, & don't seam to be putting in much effort to get the name out there. I want to see more people with them, & compare to other flashes on the market.
Looking into the company it seems like a reputable company. I believe that if you're selling a product with other competitors, your prices have to be the same way. There has not been a reasonable price for parts on any A6. Why should we have to suffer with over priced parts thru big companies that know they can over charge. I am considering this also and have found that people that have chosen this path have been happy. The company started in Europe and they extended out to the US. There has been no complaints on the BBB (Better Business Bureau).
