that intake looks good. i dont recall any other intake with a heatshield like that. thats the only thing u should be concerned about, is the intake soaking in lots of heat. not sure if u have popped ur hood while the car is still on after a nice drive, u can feel the heat pour out of the bay. that intake looks good, and pretty cheap, im going to just make my own intake, just get a cheap CAI and hack it away to make it fit, and just add a heavy duty homemade heatshield
ya i actually do realize the engine gets very hot at first i thought it was just summer and it was just my car but after readin more i realize turbo cars get hotter i usually warm up my car for 5 minutes so i might buy that intake now. Anyways u dont think that website is a scam right??
aiight woord i prolly wont buy it till next month b/c i'm still in upstate ny takin a summer class and i wont go home till aug i got a kamei style grill for the car and just bought a K&N air filter and a buncha small stuff i'll def let u know i prolly need help puttin that stuff in i mean the car is in long island right now my bro is drivin it for now kinda dumb question but is it easy to get to the air filter?? i know its on the top left side

After researching the topic, I decided the LLTEK intake would be the best route, it makes an air box with your existing air tubing. It also looks very professional when installed. I will post pics later
My 2 cents-
Have a 2.7T with tons of upgrades - don't go with a intake. The factory one is very good and in many ways more effective then a custom intake. I thought about it.. talked to many AUDI 2.7T owners and they told me the same thing. Leave the factory one in place. Put a K&N air filter in - but leave the intake.
Your wasting your money otherwise - and a new intake will only suck warm air from a motor that already puts out TONS of HEAT -
Don't waste your $$ - put it towards other upgrades.

I want to put an intake on my car and my cousin saw a short ram intake on ebay and bought it for me, but after taking a look at my airbox when it got here I was wondering if how in the heck to install it. I removed my entire airbox to get an idea of what I was up against and how much crap there was gonna be. What is the easiest way to install the intake as I am clueless as to how this ones works it says it is an 1.8t jetta/a4/tt intake but it does not look like it is going to fit in my car anytime soon. Please help!!!!!!!!!! Here is a link to the item description http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-00...27637078QQrdZ1
