Intermittent Blinker

Intermittent Blinker
Hey Guys,
So I have been looking around on the forum for some solutions to my intermittent front driver side blinker. It seems that most people would point to a faulty "hazard-relay." However the symptoms of my car seem small bit different than those of other hazard-relay victims. Unlike those with hazard-relay issues when my blinker stops working, it still does NOT work when i lock/unlock my car or when i turn the hazards on.
I have no issues changing out the relay as there are many great walkthroughs on this forum (thanks to all you btw). But i just wanted to check with any of you first before i go out and fix the issue one way or another.
Oh yeah I have a 99 A6 Avant...if that helps
Thanks for your time,
Nick

Try banging on the fender when it goes out again, on B6 A4's the socket the light sits in goes bad with poor contacts and it usually comes back to life when you tap on the fender. If it does, you may need to replace the socket the bulb sits in.
It wouldn't be a relay, because both lights would malfunction.
