Default Just want to brag about my MPG

Very happy with my 90k miles, 02 2.7T A6 6MT.

Currently averaging 24.97 mpg, with highs as high as 28.6MPG for the tank, and lows in the 20-22MPG mark.

Took 3 tanks of driving "respectfully" to get it to come up from 22 to 28MPG, but man, still awesome.

Also, about to do Turbo-Back, and wondering if I should go catless DP's. I have a VAGCOM and can code out the CEL, but as it's mainly a cruiser, I'm not sure I should bother.

Price difference between CAT and NON-CAT DP is about $70.

Thoughts?

I don't want to rain on your parade, but did you ever compute the MPG manually over a full tank of gas? My last two Audi trip computers have been optimistic by 5-7%. I have entered new calibration factors with my VAG-COM and now they are good to about 0.5%. Unfortunately I lost about 1.5 mph in the process.

I log all trips via obd2 and torque pro using gps.

Mileage is calculated based on actual distance travelled not the cars calculated.

Reset after each full up for comparison.
I recalibrated the car because of the swap between summer and winter wheels too.

All trips are then entered into fuelio and mileage is then calculated.

Yeh...I'm a weirdo :P

No I just like to see what the car can do if it's driven nicely (read babied), as I know what it does when it's not.

Also very impressed to see it retune itself from harsh driving, to relaxed driving.

I have calculated my gas mileage at actual from 37-216k miles. I rarely get better than 22-23 mpg at 75mph but I have achieved 25-26 mpg at 55-60. I drive a lot of long distance highway and accelerate reasonably slow, but I have a bad habit of running speed bursts of 80-90 on trips (especially if I find fast bear bait to follow). So your mileage is excellent. I find my dash mpg calculation is about 1.5-2 mpg optimistic (higher than I manually calculate).

I have an 2000 2.7t 6 speed with 112,000 and recorded 24 mpg during a recent highway trip. Based upon an actual calculation using regular grade fuel.

If you have a VAG-COM there is a consumption calibration factor you can adjust to make the MPG computation quite accurate. If you need instructions, let me know.
