Default keyless entry

Hello everyone.

I'm a noob to Audi so I'm probably gonna have a lot of question over the next month or so.

But anyways I just bought a 2001 Audi A6 Quattro 2.7 and it came with just one key. Is it possible to buy and program a remote for my car?? And if so how?

Thanks in-advance

Paul

yes, you can get keys from a few places (ebay and ecs tuning come to mind, but i have no experience with either).

However, as far as i know,an Audi dealer will have to program the key so that it will actually start the car.

The frustrating thing is the Audi dealer does not only have to program the new key for you but also the old key that still works. Unfortunately that is not cheap (mine charges 100$ per key, so for 1 new key and the old one you pay 200$ and that's only the programming).
