Default keyless entry

Im buying a 1996 Audi A6 Quattro and it doesnt have a keyless entry and alarm system. So i ordered a LCD Alarm system that was a good two hundred dollars and I was wondering how hard it would be to install myself or if i should take it to my favorite sound place and have them install it. I have some mechanical knowlage and i have a few friends that do also.

Think i could do it?

Good luck!

I would never consider adding anything like a Non Audi remote because there are enough electrical gremlins without adding an unknown. When you have electrical problemsthe person doing the work will swear at thething you addedbecause it will complicate anything he tries to do. Just look at the horror stories when people change radio's or add black boxes from E-bay.

^^^--what he said. that's something i would never attempt, even if i was completely competant in installing alarms. the electrical system is way to complex to just try and splice into things to get an aftermarket alarm to work. who knows, maybe you'll get lucky, but there's def been plenty of horror stories on here from the same type of deal.

Hmm...i might think about not doing it then. But the guy i know in town is pretty good and he wont do it unless he knows he can so im taking it to him when i get it to find out. It might work but who knows...
