There are some folks who still run on the original turbos at 148 k, but others reported the turbos failing as early as 60-70 k. I guess it depends who drives/drove the car and how hard they drive/drove it + maintenance. You may have found one that still have good turbos.
I know that Carfax or AutoCheck lists that there was no frame damage after that frontal crash, but I would be really wary of engine/transmission mounts, control arms, sway bar links, etc.
Have you drove the car yet? Have you inspected it? I would check it thoroughly for leaks, and rust spots (it isn't a Southern car)

As far as the 3.0L engine, based on the problems quite a few people have with their 3.0L models I would not buy one.
good luck

I be the 148k oem turbos which will be at 150k after this weekend. Mostly highway driving and regular maintenance services for the last 111k miles (since Apr 2005). I occasionally accelerate hard but rarely "race it" off the line. Most of her life is spent on cruise at 70-77 mph. I estimate about $4-6k to replace the turbos with a K04 upgrade when the time comes.

the carfax won't tell you much. Go beat on it, take it for a good test drive. Make sure you are the one that starts it up cold, lost of problems present themselves when cold. look for oil leaks, hesitation, shaking vibration. Nail with the wheels cut and listen for clicking(bad CV joints)
If it does not shift smoothly leave it on the lot, Trany problems cost way too much to repair.

Make sure you drive it and turn it off and restart it a few times, try to make a cel appear. Also make sure the lights all illuminate when ign. is turned on. To make sure nobody removed one. when your out pull into any chain auto store and have them scan the ecm for free only takes a minute or two. That might reveal anything wrong but you need to at least drive it and start it back up 4 times for a DTC to to be stored.

USE COMMON SENSE, any vehicle you buy used will require on the average of $1500.00 worth of misc. work. Just try to make sure the work is fluids, tires and brakes. Not transmissions and heads!

Don't worry about the turbos they will go sooner or later and are expensive but they bolt on. My 3.0 is POS to the core. I'd rather be dealing with a spent turbo then the crap this thing is dishing out. I think it has the soul of a girl I must have **** on in an earlier life or something.

wow....he spent $ 4 k in January to do all that work and he sold it 8 months later for $ 5.7 k. I guess he really wanted to get rid of it (at least that's how it "reads" from outside in) after changing so much stuff on it...
If the car is in that great of a shape, I would say consider yourself lucky like you grabbed God by the leg - a only 7 yr car AND STICK SHIFT....mmmmm.
Enjoy the feeling while it lasts!
Welcome to the Audi bunch and congrats on the purchase.

Welcome to Audi.......car will be up for sale in a few months....

I am jealous of the 2.7T w/ 6spd !! I know I would've been a little cautious about "$4k" spent at a dealer this year and selling the car for $5.7k. Just doesn't make sense unless he was hard up for cash or just inherited a ton of money. Eh, who knows. People do weird things all the time, so maybe you just got lucky and got a genuinely great deal on a clean car - I hope so - and I'm jealous....did i already mention that?

Your already bitching about prices of owning an expensive car..you ain't seen nothing.

BTW, That price is for the lastest version V10..you can buy used slightly older maps/disks for half that on ebay, amzn, cl etc etc
