Looking for Exhaust tips
2000 A6 2.7T.... Want to make the tips visible, prefer to have either ovals or twin dual tips. Trouble is the tips on the stock exhaust are about 5-6 inches long, and i need 9-11 inches to make anything but a single tip work.
Any ideas? Good place to get them?

Oh yeah, definately planning on cutting the bumber. I have seen a few A6's where they have done it. Don't like the turned down look that much.. It great for luxury look, but not as sporty looking.
What you do for the tips is cut off the down turned part, that leaves about 2" to slip the new ones over. Then you just weld the tips on. You can do bolt ons, but thats unprofessional and looks like crap (IMHO). Before you cut the tips off the stock exhasut, you need to trim /cut the bumber cover. I will use my dremel tool for that. To get the shape, you use the new tips you want and cut same shape but oversized to allow for heat. (I will use the tips to make a cardboard template, then hold it up, mark it, and cut it. ) I could weld the tips on myself, but i no longer have the equitpment.
There are a few sites that have step by step if you need it, but its dead simple. Most freak though when u mention cutting the bumber cover though, I think thats why guys don't retip that often on the A6 with hidden.
