i agree that the bov noise is gay....... but like i said, a map car will adapt to the fact that the air is nolonger there..... so you won't be loosing anything

How exactly will it re-learn? If you're dumping to atmosphere, the signals that made it to the ECU suggest a boost leak. Maf reads x CFM of air, which should translate to x PSI of pressure in the intake. If the PSI is less, it looks like the air is disappearing and the ecu has to trim down the fuel. Odds are you'll end up with fuel trim error codes on newer/more sophisticated ecus. Definitely a stupid thing to have only because you want to live out your Paul Walker wet dreams...
Before this goes nuts, i will set everything strait. YOu can call it ricer, F&F or whatever, but yes, you can run bovs on a Audi with a maf and closed loop system. All you have to do is have the valve closed at idle (pull valve like the hks ssqv or a twin piston like a forge004). Its when and only whenthe valve leaks at idle that it causes rich, idle, and stumbling/stalling problems.

As for the ecu, the motronic ecu's are very good when it comes to add ons and adaptation. It great since unlike a evo or other cars you have to have all of your mods stated when you get it flashed, these ecus can correct for changes in airflow by adding/subtracting fuel to reach a requested a/f.

And yes, i have been running one on my TT for well over a year and no issues. Just remember, FACTS > 0 experience

i have a 02 a6 2.7t and i just ordered the forge hybrids ... should i not put them on my car ?? or will it adapt ... you guys lost me in all the posts lol??
you will have no issues venting. Had one of those also and it works great. Its now on my brother car and im running the forge004 bov again

I've never owned a 1.8t, but I've had several fast DSMs (my brother had a 450hp monster one also) and I've got a 2.7T currently. It's the same principle everywhere else - you're losing measured air. It won't kill the car, but running rich because the car will go "pfffffffffffffffffff" is stupid in my head.
We got it, you dont like bovs, but why not listen to people that know what they are talking about?

thank you for coming in and clearing this all up....... i am learning more and more about these cars all the time and i search most of the time when i can't find answers...... but i actually sort of knew this one......so it is always nice to be told, hey man you are right

I've got no issues with bovs- my bro's eclipse had a SSQ with a GM maf hooked up after it (and it sounded awesome with 22psi). I do take issues with ricer solution because you want to have F&F bov sound... Do you guys have any references for the learning ECU part? Like I said I can't fanthom why the ECU wouldn't trip under boost-leak like conditions.

We dont need to mess with the maf placement to run a bov. All you have to do is a just add in a pair of hks ssqv or better yet, a pair of forge004's. The ecu will take care of itself. When you do add in a bov, you may feel some richness when you shift but that goes away in about a day. After that, you wont have any rich issues.

Get a forge DV the 004 or 007 they are good for recirculating air and making a cool woosh noise people are looking for (not me 710n all the way)
