Default looking for tips on using ETKA

I am having trouble figuring it out ....

My VIN for example is 4B6YN129508

I am looking for a SAI pump and etka says ( if I am reading it right ) if my vin is greater than 4B-Y-120 000 then I need pump 078 906 601 M

sure enough I pull the pump out before ordering and I have p/n 06a 959 253 B This is the part it wants me to order if i have a number below VIN 4B-y-120 001

This just doesn't make sense .. could they have the greater and less than signs backwards .. or am i just reading it wrong ..
????

I understand your problem with ETKA - sometimes it dosen't make sense... I usually call Chris at Force Five in Concord NH and tell him what I want - He usually offers me new or used. It is hard to beat his new proces and almost impossible to do better than his used prices.

Many times the parts are interchangable - but if they are not Chris knows...

Yeah that's funny cause I call Chris also to figure things out .. but i think I figured out the ETKA thing so will leave this thread up to help others.

I have been over thinking it . ">>" does not represent greater than .. only a math guy would fall into that trap anyway and it is two signs not one .. it means ' " up to " ..

for example " >> 4BY 123456 " means up to VIN 4BY 123456 not greater than VIN 4BY 123456 . That was my mistake ..

"4BY 123457 >> " would mean from VIN 4BY 123457 and on ...

All the best

Isn't it easier to pick up the phone and call dealers?
You might be able to obtain the proper part# in no time!

Default fish

I'm not a huge fish fan, but I love a fresh grouper sandwich!

Why get all stinky when you can have someone else do it for free?

I have found dealers to be less than helpful when it comes to information. I know there are good ones and bad ones but in the Audi World it seems that there are more bad dealers than good ones.

It would be a hard learning on a place with no fish...
