Default Alarm not working at all.

Have just purchased 2002 2.5tdi quattro avant. When locking the car either by key-fob or manual door lock, the alarm is not activated. Neither the turn indicators or the red door diodes flash at all. No alarm sound bleep either. The central locking system seems to work fine.
Only difference from day of purchase to now is that i have had a parrott ipod/bluetooth system fitted which is awaiting extra cable work due to bose amplifier, 12n towbar socket rewired/chenged to new 13pin set up and the windows tinted.
Unwisely, I am not sure/did not check whether the alarm was activatiing when a decided to buy the car.

Any suggestions?

You need a vag-com or equivalent scanning-programing software to read the ECU, clusters and other car controllers - many car's features and specs could be changed and modified.
The alarm could be just disabled.
You have your immobilizer still working?
Find a friend with scanner; or a shop.
Audi usually charges 1h labor for diagnostics.

Dumb question - have you tried pressing the button on the door jamb?

In any case, count your blessings!!! The Audi alarm system is overly sensitive and will go off due to a strong breeze. My advice - leave it disabled and forget about it.
