Low idling/Jerky gearchange
Hi, newbie with 99 2.4 AGA 30v v6 . She has 169k on the clock. Problem started when idling dropped to 400rpm hot or cold. Then 1st to 2nd started changing with a jerk. Now jerks through all changes, even in tiptronic. She hangs on to each gear for a long time before changing.
I've been told auto-box oil never needs changing ( find that hard to believe ).
Being a mach ( 20 years ago...the points and condensor era ) i'd like to have a go at it myself, but would first like to get all the info nec.
I' like to start by changing the box oil and believe Pentosin atf 1 is the oil to use.
The "how" to this would be appreciated , or is it plain and simple..drain oil, drop sump..clean and replace same.
Next i'd like to clean throttle body. How difficult and is it a diy job or do i need special tools.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx
Willie
