Default Low RPM

Ok...well I am new to the world of Audis and did do a search but really did not come up with anything. The problem is, that when I brake and come to a complete stop the RPMs drop to about 250 then raise back up. I do not know if they all do that or just mine. What could be wrong, if anything?

Could this possibly be bacuse of a leaking valve cover? Maybe gets some extra air in there?

Try pressure testing the system. I dont belive I found out what kind of motor you have. But check for unmetered air. This will cause this to happen

With a NA car it is harder to check for vac leaks due to the check valves. Look at your MAF and all the vac lines around the intake system.

the best way to do this is to let the car idle and feel around the motor and listen for air leaks.

any fault codes? vacuum lines would be the first area check for aged pipes ( rocker cover gasket ?? naaa ) that would be an oil leak issue, air filter dirty/ intake - exhaust leaks

Well I replaced my air filter, yet I sill have it, not as bad but its there. Seems to want to drop to 250-500 RPM. Im waiting on a person with a Vag-com to come pay me a visit. He's a busy man.

I also got a recommendation to spray brake cleaner to find the leak...
