My 2001 a6 2.7t has about 70K on it and I have been reading many posts about timing belt checkups and so on. I am planning on taking my car into the dealer in a few weeks to get everything checked. What should i ask for to make sure that nothing is overlooked?

 

Ask for a 90k service , that should cover everything

 

There's no way to CHECK the timing belt for wear. It should probably be replaced, along with the water pump, tensioners, etc, by 80-90k. I did mine at 95k although the manual called for it at 105k.

 

ppgoaldid the right thing. I would rather get it replaced 10k milessooner than 1k late.
