Audi A6 The mid-sized Audi A6 model offers more room to the driver and passengers over the A4 line.

Mechanic told me my A6 tipT trans is overengineered and would be fine with 400hp

Ouch, hence I am going with APR...

2Bennett has a good reputation. They race their cars all day long, so they know what they are talking about. Anyways, you are talking $7000 just on the tranny and delivery. Not installation.

It depends on what you want, level 10 can build a the trans to handle just about anything you can throw at it, that is, if you can afford it...... The also beef up torque converters, or sell you one that can back up the bark. Don't expect it to be cheap though, however it should still be cheaper than converting to a manual trans.

You need the rebuild kit plus the torque converter. That will cost you a bit shy of $3K. Then you have to rebuild it. Anyways, Level 10 and 2Bennett are the only 2 that I know of. They both have good reputation. There were some discussions about a guy at level 10 leaving and etc, but you do the research...

I asked for details on the power the 2.7T APR stage 2+ will put out. The APR rep said the stock tip will take stage 2. He said "Just going over some of the dyno graphs that I have from various cars with the stage 2+ software and exhaust and I am seeing around 341hp and between 398tq to about 408tq on average." So the APR guy says the tip should take 341hp and 408lb-ft of torque. Higher than that and transmission upgrades will be required. 341hp is plenty for me...not sure spending all the cash required for transmission upgrade/swap on top of stage 3 costs would be worth going up another stage. But thats just me.

I want long term reliability. I am going to look into the trans rebuild kit.

Rebuilt kit: $1,179.00
Upgrading TQ converter: $598.00. new one is 1,098
= 1,777 - 2,277

valve body s about 700.

not too bad if you ask me. Just then another 2 grand in labor lol.

2,300 is pretty far shy of 3K, unless you add the valve body mods.
