Default This might be for the doityourselfers out there

I replaced the upper control arms over the weekend and accidentally knocked of the little rubber "thing" on top of one of the control arms. I don't know if this is a bump stop or some type of seal so I thought I would attach a pic and see if any of you folks know.

Let me know if you know[sm=smiley4.gif]

Thanks
Dan

I always thought it was a seal for the ball joint, but your bump stop idea is a little intriguiing. I just dont see what it would hit. Theres noting but plastic fenderliner above it. Was there a bunch of grease under it?

I thought it was aseal or cover for the control arm joint but after it came off it turned out that it looks just like the other control arms. No grease or grease fitting under it - just a metal plate or cap just like the other joints. So at this point I am not to worried about it but it still bugs me.
