mpgs on 2.8L??
Yeah, that does seem kinda low. Im getting 18 right now with a 5-10 min commute to school every morning, and thats just because of the cold starts. No highway driving at all. With a normal combined tank, its like 21-22, only hwy is in the upper 20s. I have 16s though... I cant imagine the tire difference would kill mpgs that much. O and I have a K&N drop in, and cat back exhaust, but even before the exhaust, overall average was about 20. I have never done seafoam, I dont trust it, I just use chevron in a tank right before oil changes.

Wow! Not the same I know, but I have a 98 A4 2.8 (5sp) that gets 24mpg city on my daily drive across town. I'm no slow poke either :-) Perhaps the manual makes a big difference?
My A6 2.7T (6sp) is getting 22.5mpg on the same run. Looking forward to seeing what it does at 75-80mph for 5 hours on Friday night.

I use chevron premium all the time too...
what could be causing mine to be so low??
and I don't drive fast at all... on daily commutes i usually try to limit it to 3000~3500 rpm to save gas...

2-2.5K saves gas. How far is your daily commute? If it's not longer than 10 miles then you're doing mostly city driving and a combined mpg of 17 is fairly realistic. Highway driving is only effective when you start driving 15 miles or more and is really only practical while taking vacations, long distance driving, and the such.
