Just found out today that my 2002 a6 3.0L quattro having a fuel leak. Checked the audi website for recall, and my vin number was not recognized as part of the recall..what should i do?? any thoughts?? I hope it is a recall and not something elseeeee

 

Where do you have the leak? is it close to the fuel tank? If it is close to the tank there is a recall for the roll-over valve nipple. Here from the recall:

THE AGING OF THE PLASTIC MATERIAL IN THE FUEL TANK ROLLOVER VALVE COMBINED WITH BENDING STRESS FROM THE ALUMINUM VENTILATION LINE TO THE ROLLOVER VALVE NIPPLE MAY LEAD TO CRACKING OF THE NIPPLE. IF THIS HAPPENS, A FUEL LEAK MAY RESULT.

yep it is right next to the left(driver) side of the fuel tank..i got a quote from independent mechanic that used to work for audi for $750, but i prolly will still call the audi of america to make sure about the recall
