Default need advice buying a 2.8 avant (searched)

Hey everyone. I took a look at a 2000 2.8 Avant. Drove great, I'm already in love with the car but... some dummy lights are on. The first is the abs light with the flashing brake like. From a search that one correct me if I'm wrong looks like abs module. I have no problem with that, I have done a few of those in the past. The CEL gave a the codes p1423 p1411. That one is a bit of a mystery to me. Searching gave me issues with SIA system (not worried about that... unless I should be) and also issues with the (block breather found on another forum) Do you guys think this is a good buy, if its for the right price of course. I have no problem getting my hands dirty, I own a land rover and an rx7 so I'm always in or under something. But I don't want to grab this if it has an internal issue with the engine. I'm already not looking forward to doing the timing belt.

I own two A6 Avants 2.8l. A 1999 and a 2001, love them both

1) ABS don't worry easy replacement if you want to yourself
2) The two codes are related to vac leaks. There is a couple of spots to handel the easy repair, at the top back of the engine you will see all the vac lines, they get frayed and shredded. replace them all, wifes had the same codes and I redid them and it went away
3) Also I've seen them due to the air pump that helps get extra air in that cats at startup too, nothing to worry about and easy fix

4) These are the most common oil leaks on our avants and I've had to do it all Audi A6 Oil Leak - Audi A6 Oil Leaks - Audi A6 Oil Burning Smell

If you buy it for the right price be ready to add $1500 in parts and labour, providing you don't do all the work youself, to get it up to snuff

I have almost zero regrets buying mine and am happy to keep them

couple more points. sorry for the sp, fast smashing typing

- what is the maintenance history
- any tranny codes? you need to scan that module separately and doesn't show up under the engine scan

History looks clean. Normal stuff and cv joints not too long ago. No record of the timing belt being done so I am expecting to do that. I don't mind doing the work myself. So just parts. I don't have a way of reading tyranny codes. If it helps it shifted smooth. Did hunt on a long hill but my land rover does that too.

After driving it around I noticed a knocking out of the front suspension I didn't notice before, maybe strut mount, hard to say. I can only get it on large bumps. I wil tackle it summer unless it becomes a problem. Hopefully I can get a couple of warm days so I can pull the timing belt.

nice, same colour as mine, albeit better condition paint for yours

if you hear a knock it could just be the endlinks, those are cheap to order on ebay. i got a pair for 50 shipped out of ontario canada and they are fine quality

but a piece of advice, get a tranny flush pronto

edited: referencing lower endlinks

Will do. I was planning to get all the fluids done asap. Any reason for the tranny?
