need help asap!
front left of my car "knocks" when I roll over bumps or turn the wheel left and accelerate slow. Knocking goes away but car kinda "shakes" a little at 50+ mph. I'm assuming its the rotor of the rip. What happened was my lug nuts came loose (didnt know at the time) one the interstate and my car was shaking for about 45 miles till I got home. Tightened them up and know I've got the knock noise.
I really honestly think its Just the rotor (one mechanic from out of town heard it and said so) but I don't know of any honest mechanics around here. I really hate going to random mechanics are they always add **** on all the time.
Thanks in advance!
anybody know a good mechanic in the sarasota / bradenton area (30 mins from tampa) aka sw florida

i would jack up the left wheel, and rock it manually to see if i can reproduce the noise. i would wanna rule out a bad bolt joint oneither upper or lower control arms. they get driedup with agesometimesand begin playing within the joint.
the symptoms of a bad rotor tend to present deferently, usually they will present with vibrations on breaking which may range from subtle to quite violent in some cases. hardly will they present with a knock after climbing a bump. bolt joint damage can be reproduced by jacking the car, and rocking the interested wheel in all planes vertical and horizontal. try having the car in normal park position, without jacking the car, pound on the interested side of the car as if you where testing for bad shocks, this may repoduce the noise.im still of the oppinoin that it is a bad bolt joint
