Default Need help changing ABS sensor.

a quick update, bought a 2002 audi A6 3.0, and pulled the ABS light with VAGCOM and it had codes for all four wheel sensors. So I cleaned all the sensors with brake cleaner, and recleared codes and now it is just reflecting Code:
00283-ABS wheel speed sensor; Front Left

I recleaned and cleared and tried again and it comes up instantly.

This is the bolt in kind so I cannot adjust the gap. So I just plan on replacing, but I cannot find a DIY. Any help on where the wire goes once it goes into the fender well? I just thought I would ask before going home tonight and start pulling stuff apart.
Thanks

The ones I am familiar with are held in place wit a set set screw. Remove the set screw and turn the sensor slowly 1/4 turn each way and pull it out, try not to get too enthused and break it.

On my son's A6, the ABS wheel sensor wire is molded to the sensor & the other end goes to a rubber grommet on the firewall. Pry out the grommet & you can disconnect the harness. Plug in the new one & replace the grommet. A little soapy water on the grommet makes it slide in easier. Avoid lathering up the harness though. I recall the manual calls for some copper paste (?) to be applied to the wheel sensor before sliding it back into it's hole.

Yep, I was able to gently pull the connections through the hole after the rubber grommet was pulled.. (see image)

This was for my 2002 Audi A6 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor

it should just be simple 1 bolt arrangement, just remove and replace it, those sensors go bad all the time, its why they have specific obd code for each 1.
