98 A6. I'm having an issue with the buzzer that warns "lights on, ignition off".

It comes on (and stays on) whenever the lights are on, and the ignition is on.

Another problem, perhaps related, appeared at the same time. The door-open bell doesn't like to shut up when the doors are closed, seatbelt on. It does eventually shut off after a couple minutes.

The door bell doesn't bother me. The headlight warning is absolutely unbearable.

Electrical issues.

it might be the door switch contacts..try cleaning them ore replacing the switch?

 

Is your dash display showing a door open? it sounds like a door switch is malfunctioning causing the car to think a door is open.

 

How does one go about fixing this? Mine used to work but stopped.
