Default need owners operating manual
does anyone know how to obtain an operators manual for an 01 A6? I've searched the internet several times and can't find anything but repair manuals.

That's where I got my owner's manual, in leather case with all supplements. As jkity says, try Flea-Bay, or go to Bentley's website, they sell all manuals for AoA.

Don't forget to check the cubby hole slot in the dash under the steering column, where many owner's manuals are known to hide...

It's an open slot about 1" high and about 10" wide in the lower dash panel centered directly below the steering column, just above the pedals.
