Default Need Xenon converter HELP

any help is good

I have an a6 01 2.8, and im planning to take a road trip during chirstmas. its a 12 hour drive. Well what i am asking is; i have the regular bulb headlights. I was wondering if i convert them to xenon, would they give a better lighting. I also need to buy fog lights since i had to take them off because of a previous accident.
I have looked at ebay and saw at some ballast converters I dont want to waste too much money like 150 or more or i dont want to buy cheap ones because they break easily

anyone have any suggestions???????? also with the fog lights, i want to try to have them the same color, passing threw mountains, its alot of fog

A HID light with be 4 times brighter than your stock light. A good set of HID will run you at least $200. Try to go with a Philips bulb if you can, xenon depot is a good vender.

Another question is, what kind of bulb do i get????? do they come with the conversion kit???

now i think my car uses an h7, but when i see the HID bulb, it looks really different
well imjust asking since the old bulb usually goes in the headlight easily.... will the new bubls be like that too?

I just saw some OEM fog light assemblies for around $70 each on eBay.

LeAudi19, according to the Sylvania bulb guide, a 2001 A6 uses a H1 bulb for low beam and a H3 for fog lights. You need a rebase HID kit so the HID bulb will fit into your halogen hosuing. Try this site right here, they have very good customer support:

Type in CL for a discount code and you will get 10% off.

whatever you do dont get a cheap kit off ebay.. id know from previous expierence many times with those in the past.. ive found that DDM makes a really good 55 watt HID system and ive had em for 2 years without problems. id recommend them...
http://ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html 55watts would be the best option.. 6 times the light and same price.. go 4500k for each bulb set if you do your fogs too.

Just beware of this limitation (in red):
What is the difference between 55w and 35w kits?
Our 55w HID kits are 40% brighter than the standard 35w kits. The 55W system ballasts are about 1 cm longer than the 35W ballasts. 55w kits tend to wash out some of the color of the HID bulb due to the light output( for example, a 55w 8000k will look similar in color to a 35w 6000k kit).55w Kits are not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area

Question i am confused

Well, ive decided to go with the 35 W,
I live in Chicago and its for sure one of the most limited cities in the US,
And for sure i dont want to have to pay a $200 ticket for some lights

im just going on a road trip and need that estra light, and because I like Xenon alot

But i read in another thread that 99.5+ cars use a h7 fiting for the headlights????
the h1 looks way off, and i doubt it would fit in place

Well I ordered ones that some other people recomemded for $100
