new 2.7 biturbo owner
What's up! Welcome to the forum! I just got here as well. I just bought a 2001 2.7T A6 Quattro myself but did not get an owners manual with it. Can you tell me where the heck the button is to release the gas door? I spent 15 minutes at the gas station right after I left trying to get it open with no luck at all. Called the dealer but they were closed by that time of course! Anyway man welcome!
The gas door is released by the central locking control module. There is no button for it. You just have to push on the gas door with the car unlocked.
As far as the turbo timer goes, you dont really need one. Your car is equiped with a coolant after run pump which circulates coolant thru the turbo after the car is shut of to prevent oil "coking" in the turbo. However it cant hurt to let the car idle for about a minute before shutting it off. Especially after spirited driving. The biggest problem with that motor that ive seen is cam adjuster seals leaking. Other than that its a pretty solid motor.
