Default AU = Audi Units

Got my 2004 A6 back. A/C works better then ever. Brake fluid is changed. Wheel bearing noise and cat noise are gone and all is happy with the world. Dealer did a mini clean and wash job. The car is clearly very proud of its new parts. Now, I remember why I have been driving these cars since 1979. Only cost me 3 AU though . AU is what I call an Audi Unit (1 large). The pain is lessened if you think in AU. I am happy.

Re cost of TB job. My 2003 A6 2.7T was 6 hours labor and totalled about $900 including parts. My daughter's 2003 A4 3.0 was done a couple months later and was 9 hours labor and totalled about $1100 including parts. Same indie shop.

I recently had a key made, dealership quoted 70 for them to cut the key and 55 for them to program it (I have '97, there isn't programming its only a high security key.) I called my local locksmith who does cut car keys, they didn't have the laser machine that was needed. They recommended another place that was able to cut and "program" the key for 40 bucks. Call your local locksmith, ours here is American Lock and Key. Good luck!
