Default new member with 01 A6 6speed manual

I picked up an 01 A6 6speed manual with sport seats and a few other goodies. Nice car. I am an air cooled 911 guy having owned more than a dozen over the years. I really like this A6. Has 61k miles on it and picked it up for 9750.

Thinking about the t/b soon. The brights dont come on all the time when you pull the stalk so I have to look into that. Otherwise its a clean straight no paint work car. Silver/black. New clutch at 37k miles.

Was thinking about an allroad and I found a manual with 57k on it but the air bag suspension is costly fix.

Anything to look out for?

Welcome to the zoo!

If you haven't already, check out the sticky at the top of the forum. It has a lot of tips and ideas for new owners.

One thing that you might want to do is put the type of car (and engine/transmission) in your signature line; a lot of it on here do that for ease of reference. Though that has nothing to do with your car directly....

The TB (and company) is usually the largest maintenance thing that comes up in the first 100k miles. The front outer CV boots can/will tear, and if you have a 2.7t, the throttle body boot will often times rip. The only other thing I can think of offhand is that there are some issues with the coil packs, but again, that's something that's hit or miss. Check out Audidiy.com for tips and tricks when it comes to maintenance. Most of the routine stuff isn't that hard, or at least no harder than coming over form a 911 heritage.
