New to this place, quick questions...
Drove a ton of cars (mostly Audi, Bimmer, and Lexus) and just got a low mileage silver 2001 A6 2.7T and freakin' love it! Almost, almost went with an 01 S4 with 79k, but it wasn't the 6 speed. Anyway, I'm going through this site and love it and will probably find these answers somewhere, but...
Keeping the stock stereo system, can you install and amp to run a couple subs in the trunk or do you need a new stereo to replace the factory one? I'd hate to do that as I really like the controls on the steering wheel and the factory setup...
Also, basic wheels question...are 20's ok or do you need to make modifications for them not to rub?
And is there anything special you can/need to do to the turbo's for upkeep?
Again, I'm new and apologize if these are basic/stupid questions....

Nice pick up, i got the same model with a tip. Yes you can add subs and amp them while leaving the stock bose system. Just hooked mine up this week, but just a warning, the hat rack will rattle a bit. I beleive modification would need to be done to fit 20's, but honestly dont put 20's on the 6. 19's are plenty big exspecially with a drop on the car.As for turbos, get a pair of diverter valves(APR, hyoerboost, baily's, 710N's) and a TBB since they are prone to tearing, samco sells one for around $80 or you can spend 300+ on a APR bipipe. Just let you car warm up and cool down for a minute or two, more so if you really getting on it. Good luck, its a great car, just maintain it right!

Do a forum search on 2.7T and read up. Make sure you use good synthetic oil (I like Mobil1 0W for winter and 5W for summer) and change it regularly. Don't let it warm up too long in cold weather, but don't get on it until it has a chance to warm up well. As said above, if you drive it hard, give it a few minutes of slow driving to cool down the turbos.
