New Audi owner, used Audi A6...Love it! There is a picture of a jar with a fluid spraying out of it, it's where the picture comes up when gas is low and since I don't have a manual yet (I have ordered one) I am afraid to drive it. Does this mean something is leaking? Anyone have an answer for me? Really would appreciate it.

 

If its coming out like a whale it means that you are low on windshield washer fluid. It is a gas pump if you are low on fuel.

 

If the jar has big X's on it you've run out of moonshine.


In your case I'd suspect it is windshield washer fluid.

 

Yes, washer fluid is low. Before you go through too much effort to source a user manual, look under the steering column. There is a slot there for the leather wallet which holdthe manuals. If your previous owner did what he/she was supposed to do, it is hidden in that slot.

Or try eBay...usually there are quite a few up for auction.

 

Aren't you glad this is a five cent fix? Unfortunately, it is one of the few cheapies. [&:]

 

Also check in the panel where your jack is stored. There is a handy slot under it where I keep my manual to reduce clutter in the cab,
