Hi,

completely new to this board; please excuse my ignorance. I am toying with the idea of buying a new A6 Avant. Scanning the inventories of (several but not all) dealers in the SF Bay Area I didn't find any A6 Avants listed.

I realize that it is the end of the '08 model year and the '09 model year has not gotten into full swing yet, thus possibly explaining the dearth of new A6 Avants but I am wondering: is the A6 Avant enough of a niche model that dealers generally order only a few and that these sell quickly?

I'd love to hear thoughts on this. I have only seen a few A6 Avants on Bay Area roads, where one generally sees some of the more unusual / rare cars - nice looking car, particularly the C6 iteration.

I have not gone to buy a new Audi but when I was considering trading in my Avant, the dealer was willing to give me almost high retail for trade in. She stated that so many people are ditching their luxury SUV's and buying Audi Avants as it gives you the space, utility but not the gas bill.

 

I just bought a A6 and my dealer tells me they cannot keep the A6 advent in stock at all, they sell very fast.

 

When I bought mine the dealer only had a green one on the lot. He got me my silver car from Wilmington to Rockville for free. Af ew days delay saved me big bucks since they ran a 5k off sale on all A6's the day of picking it up.
