Default OFF-IDLE HESITATION // NEW PROB- HEATER CORE LEAK?

I've had my 2000 A6 Avant 2.8 for about 6 weeks now. (69k mi.) One thing that bothers me is 'dead spot' or off-idle hesitation as I start to accelerate normally. It's not bad, just enough that it's noticeable. Anyone else ever experience this. Any fixes?

Just found a new problem. 1/2' of standing water on the passenger side of my carpet. Unable to locate any leak. Carpet that goes up under the dash seems dry. Is there some kind of water tube going from the heater core to the vents on the back of the center console? Seems like it wettest right there. I vacuumed up about 1/2 gallon of water. ..... HELP!

UPDATE ON THE WATER LEAK:
Took the car into Commonwealth Audi in Santa Ana Ca. I explained the water problem to the service writer. He knew right away it was clogged drain tubes in the A/C system. $ 700 later after pulling the interior and drying the carpet, I've got the car back.

I've had probably 30 cars in my life, and this is the first time this has happened to me. As blowing out the tubes is very easy, you may want to have this done as a preventative measure.
