what is the best oil to use in 2.7t. climate here in tennessee is pretty moderate right now- chilly nights perfect days.

Go with a good synthetic. I use Mobil1 10W-30 in the summer and a 50-50 blend of 5W-30 and 0W-20 in the winter. I was told to stay with the Mobil1 filter. So far 57k miles in less than two years with no problems.

PS - You'll want to change the oil every 6-8,000 miles even if the computer tells you you can go longer. Clean oil is critical to turbo health.

hey matoida6twin, do you diy on your car or do you have an indy mechanic in nashville? i took my car to one in franklin and they were outrageously expensive. i'm about to do my valve cover gaskets, cam tensioner gaskets, and suction pump-breather hose myself because i have an oil leak. doing myself for $80. they wanted to charge me $900! any way, just wandering if you are a diy'er or if you haven't had to mess with anything yet.

i take my car to german performance options. they are very fair. i just had my timing belt, water pump, tensioners replaced and a bunch of seals replaced for 1400.00. it sounds like a lot but i thought it was a fair price for as long as it took. i originally took mine in for the oil leak, but once they showed me everything that was involved i opted to do the whole timing belt thing too. i do change my own oil though and i am getting ready to replace my rotors.
