Oil pressure warning + low oil temp

Oil pressure warning + low oil temp
2000 2.7t 6 speed. 109,000 miles. I've owned the car for a couple of months.
I was driving home, and after taking a corner, and my car started chiming like my fuel was low. I looked at the display, and it was an engine symbol (assuming that signified oil pressure). My oil temp was down to nothing even though my water temp was at half.
Parked the car, looked for signs of oil leaks. None found. No knocking. Oil level was registering on the dipstick.
Started it back up. No warning display. Oil temp started to rise.
I babyed it back home assuming it was a bad sensor. Oil temp stayed steady at 200 deg the entire trip home.
Is this a common thing? Is it just a sensor/wiring issue?
EDIT: I should add that I'm running Mobil 1 5w40.

Bad oil pressure sensor, if it were a 1.8T then i would be looking at oil sludge but audi V6 engines almost never have that problem. So i would say its a bad sensor.

RE: Oil pressure warning + low oil temp
Are you SURE it was oil pressure? If you push the clock button in the cluster it will tell you if it's oil pressure or oil level.
The sensor can stick, & give a false reading. Mine has been giving me the same problem. When it's really hot out & I hit stop & go traffic, the light will go off, then tell me I'm fine. Then some time later it will go back on.
A new sensor is $50, & you can change it at you next oil change.

RE: Oil pressure warning + low oil temp
Someone help me please. My Engine oil pressure light keeps coming on and flashes every 2 mins or so.Its been doing it for a while now. When i was on my home from work yesterday I heard a rattling noise coming from the engine. Iwas told to get the oil filter changed and get it cleaned out professinaly which i did.Anyway the rattling still continues and the oil pressure light keeps coming on still. When i came out the garage the rattling stoped but then about a mile down the road it started again. I was told the rattling would be the pistons not getting oil to the top off them.Someone help me please Thanks
Oh i forgot its an Audi A6 1.8 T 2000 REG
THANKS
